Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Thank you for checking this page. It's amazing to me still that this page has been in existence for nearly three years. Please, for the love of Bobbi, encourage all of your loved ones to have regular cancer screening.
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. That's nearly 200,000 women per year. Of those 95% will be women over 40.
Now we have endured our second holiday season without our beloved Bobbi among us. I myself am slowly learning to stop asking "Why???",
but instead to say "Thank You for the times we did have". She was an amazing woman, and her legacy lives on. I think of her whenever I see any thing of beauty
or act of kindness. It's one reason why I think of Bobbi so often. She saved my life, and I so wish I could have returned the favor.
Because of Bobbi we were inspired to start a drive to get a digital mammography machine for our local hospital. Our own Rotary of Cherokee was the first large donor to our hospital foundation with the proceeds from a golf tournament.
We also asked here that in leue of flowers donations be made in Bobbi's name to that very fund. Two years later that goal has been fulfilled! We now have a digital mammography machine.
I have also started a scholarship fund to help Boy and Cub Scout volunteers (who could not otherwise afford to) pay for advanced training. This year the Bobbi Lambert Scholarship will assist four volunteers pay for training. You see- she's still helping take care of the children.
Thank you to everyone who remembered Bobbi and helped make this possible.

Thanks in large part to Bobbi's inspiration, CIH now has a new mammography machine!!!
Since September 2009 all new entries to this page are actually being made to the blog site- www.bobbilynn.org. Old "non blog" web pages may be
viewed by clicking the links at the top of this page. I made a mistake with a new web editing program and erased the whole web site. Oops.
I have restored some backups and gotten most of it back.
If you find a broken link please let me know.
In the mean time, because of low "readership", I have for the most part stopped making updates. This does not mean I no longer mourn Bobbi. I just think it's okay for me to do so in private. I was never really as comfortable with this web page as I may have seemed. This page and the blog were a tool for us all to share that grief and learn to deal with it. Now I need some time to myself. Not a day goes by I don't wish things had turned out differently....Peace, Hugh

Our family, August 2008 at Gale's Memorial... We miss you Bobbi!
Bobbi Lynn Lambert, 1949 - 2009
At 12:29pm on February 22nd my beloved wife of 25 years died peacefully in my arms surrounded by her
family. Bobbi Lynn Livengood Lambert was the truest, kindest, most giving and loyal person I have ever known (and I have known and do know many). Her affect on the people who knew and loved and still love her is both profound and long-lasting. I never felt worthy of such a person, and am profoundly grateful that she chose to make her life with me, her husband Hugh. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, wife and friend, and we all miss her terribly.
I can not fully express my gratitude for all of the people who showed Bobbi and myself a limitless supply of love
and support.
Before Bobbi died she wrote four letters- one each to her mom, Kim and myself. The fourth one was to you.
I'm considering posting her letter to me. If it's okay, I'll selfishly keep it to myself for now. I've written her a love letter in return. If you'd like you may read it HERE. Here is her love letter to you all-
To All My Great Family and Extended Family of Friends-
Wow, I gotta be the luckiest, most blessed one I know: a wonderful set of parents, supportive, encouraging with just the right touch of nurturing, creating a childhood of loving growth in safety and love. Brothers and sisters who had great senses of caring and sharing, teasing and pleasing, we all hung out so well together and truly have deep love for each other. Seems childhood for me was really what you hear is a perfect time, it was.
My good fortune was also in moving to these great mountains, meeting my beloved Hugh, and his family- warm, generous, funny and very personable. New family members just delighted me, what a find, eh? And surrounding every job, every move, and every group I encountered were such a fabulous nice bunch of people.
I have lived a blessed life, fulfilled and beautiful and I wanted to thank each and every on in it!
Live – Love –Laugh
This is the moment to live it- each is so short.
Love Yas!

Please- No Flowers. Bobbi had asked that no flowers be sent, and we continue to honor her request. If you feel compelled to give
something then we request
you make a donation to the
Cherokee Indian Hospital with "In Honor of Bobbi Lambert" in the description.
The donation go towards our effort to buy a digital mammography machine to replace the ancient non-digital one
the hospital has now. If you think a mind is a terrible thing to waste, imagine how much we would hate to loose some
other bits! CIHA

We would also suggest any of her other favorite charities- Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts, you local Public Radio station (like WCQS) and Heifer Intl top her list. Blessing on you all.
Thank You!.... Hugh |
