I'd be remiss if I did remind everyone that the wheelchair ramp was the first "community effort". See it HERE.

Day 1- Dec. 13, 2008

Yesh, this job is overdue.

The north side is the worst...

Greg is pulling the old trim...

While nephew Forrest holds the ladder.

Day 2- Dec. 14, 2008

Day 3 and 4- Dec. 20-21, 2009

It was a little cold that day.

Finally, all the Tyvek is on.

Making the "Water Table" trim..

Here's what it looks like..

Now the trim is going on.

And now it's finished.

While we're outside....

Bobbi works on another house...

Now we're ready for siding.

Greg gets the siding started.

Now you can see it shaping up.

The siding meets the trim...

It was a long time between days. Here's day 5. This is what we did January 29, 2009 when my friends and coworkers came over...

Off with the old nasty masonite trim.

Once the PT boards are up the foam goes on.

Trimming around windows and doors takes some time...

Testing the fit of the new Pella windows..

Once the foam insulation goes up...

The TYVEK house-wrap can follow.

A razor knife comes in handy. Now the house is more air-tight

Puttin up siding and looking cool doing it.

DAY 6- FEBRUARY 1, 2009
David and I got the rest of the side all prepped. I got some caulking done and primed the first water-table trim.
Then Dave and I finished all the prep on the side of the house. We cut and nailed up the foam sheathing,
framed all the windows, wrapped the house with Tyvek and then installed the last two new windows.
Just in time, too- it's supposed to get cold and rainy again this week.

Dave is finishing the foam sheathing...

At the far end of the house there's a few jigsaw pieces..

Then the Tyvek wraps the whole side of the house.

Now we're installing the new thermalpane windows.

Finally the whole side is ready to have the siding installed.

DAY 7- FEBRUARY 16, 2009
I built some "boxes" for the eves extensions, then Donna helped me put them on.
After that David and I got the rest of the siding on!

Dave is finishing up as Donna and Chris admire the siding. ...

Here's what my eve extension looks like from below..

Look! We finished this side! Woohoo it was a cold day!

You can see how much the new roof extension changes the look.

Finally the whole side is done. We are now half way done.
